Jane Lynch Divorces Wife After Three Years

Emmy Award-winning actress Jane Lynch and her wife are calling it quits after three years of marriage, TMZ reports.

The "Glee" star married Dr. Lara Embry in a small ceremony Massachusetts in 2010 but told People Magazine Tuesday, "Lara and I have decided to end our marriage. This has been a difficult decision for us as we care very deeply about one another."

Lynch, 52, met Embry, 44-year-old psychologist, in 2009 at a fundraiser in San Francisco and tied the knot a year later. The women are residents of California and TMZ notes "a California court will almost certainly dissolve the marriage, even though marriages are not legal in California." The state, however, recognizes same-sex marriages from other places where gay couples can tie the knot.

TMZ also notes that California is a community property state, which means the women will have to split all assets acquired during their marriage 50/50 - unless there is a pre-nup, which according to sources, the couple does not have.
