Jane Lynch on Ellen :: Julia Roberts is gay
EDGE READ TIME: 1 MIN.
Does America's favorite 'Pretty Woman' like other pretty women?
That's what Glee star Jane Lynch told Ellen DeGeneres on The Ellen DeGeneres Show today.
The recent Emmy-winning actress says Julia Roberts can thank her for outing her as gay, People.com reported.
"If Julia Roberts were gay, I think it would be harder. She's an ingenue," Lynch said to DeGeneres.
"So, you're saying Julia Roberts is gay?" DeGeneres responds in surprise.
"That's what I'm saying. Right here on this show," Lynch jokes. "She won't admit it. I'm here to tell you she's gay. You're welcome, Julia."
Both DeGeneres and Lynch are out and have both married their partners: DeGeneres with actress Portia De Rossi in California during the brief window when same sex marriages were legal in that state; and Lynch to psychologist Lara Embry in Massachusetts earlier this summer.
Lynch thanked DeGeneres for paving the way.
"You were at the height of your fame and you came out," Lynch said. "And that just blazed a trail for me. It really did. It made it so much easier for me, what you did."
Glee returns to Fox on September 21, 2010.
