Dress For Success Hosts "A Tribute to Marilyn"

MIAMI, FL - They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and after nearly 50 years of fame and stunning beauty, Marilyn Monroe is being honored by The Grove Retrospective Gallery, in conjunction with Dress for Success Miami, with a Marilyn Monroe Look-Alike Contest on Friday, November 11, 2011 at 7pm in Coconut Grove.
To celebrate the opening of the Marilyn Monroe exhibit at the Retrospective Gallery, one of the largest pop and surreal art galleries in Miami-Dade County, South Floridians are invited to don their best blond wig, diamonds and Chanel No. 5 and take part in the Marilyn Monroe Look-Alike Contest.
The contest is free, and open to men and women over the age of 21, and who pre-register. This contest embraces beauty and encourages a world where, as Marilyn would say, "everyone's a star and deserves the right to twinkle."
All proceeds from donations and raffles will benefit Dress For Success Miami, a nonprofit organization that raises funds for underprivileged women who need professional clothing and assistance in finding employment.
Dress for Success Miami has been helping Miami's disadvantaged women since 1994, and is dedicated to improving their lives by helping them become economically self-sufficient and thrive in work and in life.
While known for providing business attire to women, Dress for Success Miami focuses on teaching lifelong skills - recognizing that finding work is only one step in a woman's journey towards economic independence. Remaining employed and building a rewarding career are essential if a woman is to become and stay self-sufficient. Dress for Success Miami has provided services to more than 30,000 women in Miami-Dade County.

Dress for Success Miami is delighted to honor such an unforgettable woman, and at the same time, celebrate and raise funds for the career-driven, independent women of today who want (and need) to let their beauty shine too," said Sonia Jacobson ,Founder and Executive Director for Dress for Success Miami.

To date, Dress for Success has helped more than 600,000 women work toward self-sufficiency. Dress for Success Miami is the local affiliate and is a part of Suited for Success.
