JoJo Siwa, Chris Hughes Looking More and More Like a Couple

JoJo Siwa's birthday celebration photos, posted to social media, show fun times, cupcakes... and "Big Brother" castmate Chris Hughes with his hand on her thigh.

Siwa, who turned 22 on May 19, took to Instagram to post photos showing the revelry. The candid photos and videos include a selfie of Siwa taken on stage, a table of snacks boasting several boxes of custom cupcakes, and a snap of Hughes polishing off the remnants of a cake on a platter decorated in chocolate with a birthday message.

There are also images that show how close the two have become: Hughes and Siwa at a kitchen table, enjoying take-out as Siwa sips from a coffee cup emblazoned with a photo of the two of them; Hughes showing off a pile of what looks like birthday presents and explaining, "My mum taught me how to wrap"; the duo posed on the set of NBC's "Access Daily"; Siwa snuggling close to Hughes on a sofa; and Hughes and Siwa in a nighttime clench, him with a hand on her thigh. A close-up of Hughes' hand resting on Siwa's leg rounds out the intimate imagery.

"This years birthday week was more magical than anything," Siwa captioned the album. "Full of surprises, family time, performing, chilling, laughing, loving, smiling, and good meaningful cries."

"Absolutely beautiful, wouldn't change a single thing🀍 a week I'll remember for the rest of my life."

Fans were quick to air their thoughts.

"the hand on her thigh is definitely them together yall," one commentator posted in response, while another declared, "If this isn't confirmation then I don't know what is".

"The best chemistry 😍," another fan swooned, while one starry missive congratulated the pop star with, "Happy for you Taurus queen πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’".

Added others: "You and Chris just look so happy together you were meant to be πŸ’–," "Ain't no way they're not dating," and "I love you two soooooo much".

Summed up someone else: "Joelle & Chris forever ❀️".

Hughes, too, took to Instagram, posting, "The previous 7 days have been the prettiest.. πŸ˜ŠπŸ’«πŸŽ‚".

Hughes' photos included a sweet black-and-white snap of himself and
Siwa sharing an airport bench with her resting her head on his shoulder, the two of them taking a selfie as she rested a hand on his chest, more snuggling on a different couch, and a tableside hug at a coffee shop.

More messages of love and support accumulated on Hughes' post. "this has to be a hard launch," one fan declared, while another said, "Ohhhh yeah they are definitely together." Others noted that Hughes looked "happy" in the photos.

One fan seemingly recalled that until recently Siwa had identified as a lesbian. That changed during her time in the "Big Brother" household, when, during a conversation with fellow guest mate Danny Beard, Siwa announced that she was "going to the Q!"

"I've always told myself I'm a lesbian, and I think being here I've realized, 'Oh, I'm not a lesbian, I'm queer,'" the entertainer mused. "And I think that's really cool." The moment was witnessed by fans watching the show's livestream.

It was during the run of the show that Siwa got close to sports announcer and "Love Island" alum Hughes. When the season ended and Siwa left the "Big Brother" household, she promptly broke up with non-binary DJ and actor Kath Ebbs. The end of that relationship did not seem surprising to some; as Vulture noted, "Siwa and Hughes were caught cuddling during their time on the show... causing fans to wonder if their relationship was only platonic."

Even so, the duo have said publicly that there is nothing more than friendship between them. Hughes, 32, claimed to E! News that they were "just messing around - we're being kids," and added that "JoJo was like a pure rock to me" on the show.

"She was someone I can have fun with," Hughes added. "From a friendship point of view, yeah, of course I love her."

That was essentially the message all over again when Hughes and Siwa went on British talk show "This Morning" to talk about Siwa's breakup and their own bond. The duo dismissed rumors that they were dating.

"It wasn't supposed to happen like that," Siwa said of her breakup with Ebbs, after telling the hosts of the talk show that the way the end of that romance arrived "was not a plan or my intention."
