The awards show that grew out of the "Las Culturistas" podcast will be coming to TV for the first time with its fourth annual edition, Variety reported.
The award show "celebrates 'Culture's most iconic and consequential moments of the year,' and features more than 100 categories, live musical performances and celebrity guests," the entertainment news outlet detailed, adding that the show will be broadcast on Bravo on Aug. 5 before being streamed on Peacock the following day.
In a joint statement, podcast hosts and awards show organizers Yang and Rogers laid out their vision, writing, "The word 'culture' is defined as 'the arts and other manifestations of human intellectual achievement regarded collectively.'"
"We are so thrilled to eliminate that whole 'intellectual' part entirely with the LCCA's airing on Bravo and Peacock this August, alongside our partners at Lionsgate," the duo added jokingly. "Because while what the world needs now might be love sweet love, it also needs to see an Oscar-winning actress and a Real Housewife come together to present a very heavy award to Oprah, if we can book her. Oprah, u up?!"
The two took to Instagram with a video talking about the upcoming event and declaring, "publicists' season has begun. Your work begins now!"
The event received warm words from NBCUniversal, which owns both Peacock and Bravo. "Matt and Bowen's undeniable chemistry, playful humor and love of pop culture's big and small moments have shaped this spirited award show, redefining what it means to celebrate culture," said Jen Neal, Executive VP of Live Events and Specials.
Over the course of its previous three iterations the show has "featured guests like Mariah Carey, Tina Fey, Ariana Grande, Amy Poehler and Lady Gaga," Variety noted.
