Gay country singer Orville Peck has been busy. He's preparing to appear at Carnegie Hall, take the reins of the Emcee from Adam Lambert on Broadway, and release a new album. The South Africa-born recording artist answered questions about all of that and more in a Q&A on his Instagram Stories, Out Magazine reported.
"Ask me a question," the singer invited, and fans obliged, with one asking how long his Broadway stint starring in the revival of "Cabaret" was scheduled to run. "From March 31st - July 20!" Peck replied, adding a link to obtain tickets.
He did not, however, volunteer whether he was planning to wear his trademark mask on stage or whether he would play the part with his features unobscured.
Another fan wondered who's responsible for Peck's styles, and he revealed the designer to be none other than "The ride or die @cathyhahn," a stylist, Out explained, whose "work has been worn by numerous artists in different mediums – from television, film, music videos, live performances, and commercials."
"Besides Peck, Hahn is a frequent collaborator with artists such as Post Malone, Lil Nas X, and Sierra Ferrell, to name a few."
"When asked who was responsible for his 'gay sexual awakening,' Peck replied that it was none other than Cyclops – the Marvel superhero and X-Men mutant," Out relayed, detailing that Peck refrained from identifying a particular actor in a live-action interpretation of the role, but instead "shared a comic-book/animated image of Cyclops..."
Actors portraying the character in live-action projects have included James Marsdan, Tim Pocock, and Tye Sheridan, the writeup noted.
Others asked about his habit of keeping a record of tattoos fans sport referring to himself and his work (his tally seems to have exceeded 500), his penchant for naming his albums with references to horses ("The singer replied with the hilarious horse sitting on the front porch meme," Out shared), and if he still gets on his skateboard. Alas, the answer to that last was no. Even though Peck replied with a photo of himself on a board, with mask and cowboy hat in place, he indicated that his skateboarding days are behind him: "Wrists too important," he explained.
In another post, Peck told fans that he's "Honored to be performing at the 38th Annual Benefit Concert for @tibethouse.us celebrating H.H. the Dalai Lama's 90th birthday with friends and icons."
"Very much looking forward to March 3rd," the out star added of the upcoming performance.
