Wis. Business Group Holds Wedding Expo for Gay Couples

The Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce says it will hold a wedding expo for same-sex couples in anticipation of gay marriage becoming legal in Wisconsin.

A federal judge declared Wisconsin's ban on gay marriage unconstitutional in a June decision upheld by a federal appeals court this month. State attorneys are asking the U.S. Supreme Court to take the case.

LGBT Chamber Executive Director Jason Rae says couples expect the Supreme Court to legalize same-sex marriage nationwide next year, and they are already starting to make wedding plans. Rae says the chamber hopes to help its members capture some of that wedding business.

The expo will run from 4 to 8 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Radisson Milwaukee West in Wauwatosa.
