Ally Bross and Mack Fitzgerald, both from Season 1 of NBC's travel competition series Destination X, confirmed their engagement on December 23, 2025. The proposal took place during a trip to Thailand, specifically in Chiang Mai, where Fitzgerald got down on one knee in front of a waterfall while they stood in the water.

Bross shared a carousel of engagement photos on Instagram, captioning it “Fall in love again and again.. forever.” Fitzgerald posted her own photos, writing “We’re engaged!!!!!!!!! betta luck next time boys,” and showcased Bross's pear-shaped diamond engagement ring. Bross revealed details of the surprise, noting Fitzgerald orchestrated it “Destination X style,” starting with Bross blindfolded and receiving a riddle via walkie-talkie.

Their relationship traces back to Destination X, which premiered in January 2025 and became one of NBC’s most-watched new unscripted series, drawing 4.2 million viewers across NBC and Peacock. The show features 12 contestants blindfolded and transported to locations across Europe, tasked with guessing their whereabouts using clues; the one guessing farthest is eliminated each episode. Bross and Fitzgerald met during filming in Italy but initially disliked each other.

During the show, Bross had a showmance with fellow contestant Shayne Cureton, and they dated for two months after filming wrapped. After that split, Bross and Fitzgerald, who live just eight minutes apart near Austin, Texas, became friends. In an Instagram reel on November 11, 2025, they recounted: “Fifteen months ago, we met on reality TV. It was fine at first… but we ended up actively disliking each other. After the show, we became fast friends. By chance, we only lived eight minutes apart.” They took a trip to Finland as friends a year ago, became girlfriends ten months ago, and recently launched Sapphic Rebellion, a sapphic clothing brand.

They went public in July 2025, with Bross posting: “Turns out I DID win Destination X. In a shocking twist, I found my soulmate. To the ends of the earth. I love you, Mack.” Fitzgerald echoed in July: “I’m so so happy and so in love with the coolest, baddiest, sweetest, smartest, silliest, girly around. Never saw it comin. Shout out... Destination X for bringing us together on some tarmac somewhere in Italy.”

Host Jeffrey Dean Morgan commented on Bross’s post: “Well well well! Congrats kids! All the love, xojd.” Bross replied: “thank you jeffrey!!!!! she did the whole thing destination x style.” Fans and castmates offered congratulations, highlighting the couple's journey as inspirational within LGBTQ+ communities.

This engagement underscores how reality television can foster unexpected queer love stories, with Bross and Fitzgerald's path from competitors to partners resonating with sapphic audiences. Their launch of Sapphic Rebellion further ties into affirming LGBTQ+ entrepreneurship, celebrating lesbian and queer women’s visibility. As they plan their future, their story continues to captivate, blending adventure, romance, and queer joy.
