EDGE READ TIME: 3 MIN.
Are you ready to laugh until it hurts? Because The Crown & Anchor has a line up for the true laughter masochist.
The Cape is about to experience it's very own special "night at the races" as one of American pop culture's most recognizable, enduring (and endearing) personalities rides back into town. That feisty little fireball, Leslie Jordan is "Back By Popular Demand," June 30 and July 1 at the Paramount. The diminutive, delightful Deep South dynamo saddles up for an evening of horse feathers hilarity with this new show.
Long a favorite from his roles on "Will & Grace," "American Horror Story," "Sordid Lives" and "The Help," Leslie has a special relationship with Provincetown and the Crown & Anchor and always gives his audiences a memorable evening of entertainment. As approachable as he is talented, it's your opportunity to see an amazing comedic talent in an intimate setting. Leslie Jordan is performing as part of the Crown's "Raising the Volume" series with a portion of the proceeds benefitting The Trevor Project.
Jordan's career has effectively redefined the standard for "celebrity", and he remains the consummate professional. By staying the course, he realized his goals against all odds.
Then there's the stand up comedy of "Jessica Kirson", July 1-4 at the Crown Cabaret. With her unique style and captivating stage presence, she captures the attention of audiences and club bookers everywhere she performs.
Her wide variety of characters brings a diverse energy to her routine. Once you have seen her amazing talent, it is easy to understand why she was selected to perform at the Hamptons, Toyota, Marshall's Women in Comedy, Comedy Central's South Beach and HBO's Las Vegas comedy festivals.
When music and comedy legends "Amy & Freddy" roll into town you will laugh, but you may also cry and you will certainly tap your toes and snap your fingers. Freddy Allen's musicianship and Amy Armstrong's voice will blow you away, July 6 and 7 at the Paramount.
This season marks Amy & Freddy's 15th anniversary performing together! Based in Chicago, they have graced the stages coast-to-coast, both large and small, and in over 20 countries with their one-of-a-kind wit and musical prowess.
Not only has the duo shared the stage with names such as Kathy Griffin, Mary Wilson and the Supremes, Phyllis Diller, Bea Arthur, Jennifer Holiday and Judy Gold, to name a few, they remain dedicated to their community involvement having presented numerous charity concerts over the years, raising over $15 million for LGTB charities worldwide.
For those of you who like muscle and man-flesh with comedy you'll get it all packed into a pair of short-shorts with "Gay Camp".
Straight from a sold-out run at the Duplex in NYC, this sexy and hilarious hit comedy hits the Crown Cabaret July 7-11. Get ready for tantalizing hot go-go boys, gay Twister, Straight verus Gay lessons, Michele Bachman surprises, and more innuendos than you can shake a dildo at. Drink, laugh and have a gay old time at "Gay Camp."
Even if you're not a submissive, the comedy at the Crown will make you cry, "I surrender!"
