EDGE's Designers to Watch in 2014
Mac Smith READ TIME: 4 MIN.
Starting a new year, you can't help but think of a new beginning and who you'd like to be in 2014. And if you're like us, that means a new wardrobe to go with the new, better you.
In honor of this feeling of exploration, EDGE has pulled together some of our favorite new and under-the-radar fashion designers you should know about and the designs that are going to make a big splash in 2014.
Julian Zigerli
You know you're about to have a great year as a young designer when none other than Giorgio Armani lends you some support. Mr. Armani's namesake theater in Milan was the showcase for Julian Zigerli's fall 2014 menswear collection this January.
If it's received like Zigerli's notable Spring 2014 line, expect lots of artistic elements with bold and brash color. No wonder he caught the Italian icon's eye.
Matthew Camp
Talk about a career renaissance.
Former go-go boy Matthew Camp is now a master tailor of one-of-a-kind leather jackets and covetable graffiti-inspired graphic T-shirts. Camp can't help but deliver sex appeal: his first fragrance, 8.5 (we can only imagine), is a heady mix of leather and cedar essence-encapsulated in a bottle that looks an awful lot like poppers. Grrr.
David Hart
If you're looking for a new career this year, have we got the perfect suiting and office-friendly pieces for you.
After stints with Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren, David Hart has ventured out on his own, offering up luxury suits and shirts that are stylish but not stuffy. There's even fantastic retro-influenced sportswear, because a man is not defined by work alone, no matter what resolution he sets for the new year.
