WWE Star Calls for Wrestlers to Come Out

World Wrestling Entertainment star John Cena has been vocal about his support for the LGBT community when the organization's Darren Young came out and reiterated his views when he spoke with out TV personality Andy Cohen's "Watch What Happens Live" on Bravo this week.

The Huffington Post reports Cena talked about a number of different topics with Cohen, including his views on the LGBT community and Young's coming out in August.

"My thing is this, if you're good at your job, I don't judge," Cena said. "Darren is really good at his job, he's a wonderful performer, he's a great entertainer and it's a very, very bold move that he made to come out. So he certainly is very a brave individual for doing that... He can be himself and nobody judges him around here."

Young made headlines in August when he told TMZ that he is gay. A cameraman asked the athlete if an openly gay wrestler could have a successful career and Young said:

"Absolutely. Look at me. I'm a WWE superstar and to be honest with you, I'll tell you right now, I'm gay. And I'm happy. I'm very happy," the wrestler said.

At the time, Cena voiced his support for Young, telling TMZ he was incredibly happy for him.

"I know Darren personally. Darren's a great guy. That's a very bold move for him. And congratulations for him for actually finally doing it," Cena said. He added he's proud of Young, especially because he has a brother who is gay and knows it can be difficult for someone to come out. He said that he doesn't think Young's WWE career will be impacted and other wrestlers will accept him.

"For us, it's entertainment ... and if you're entertaining you shouldn't be judged by race, creed, color or sexuality ... as long as you're entertaining," Cena said.
