Diver Tom Daley Receives Social Media Backlash for Coming Out

British Olympic bronze metal-winning diver Tom Daley made international headlines Monday after revealing in a YouTube video that he is in a relationship with a man. While many have lauded the athlete for his announcement, Daley has been the subject of a social media backlash.

Daley didn't specifically say he is gay or bisexual but explained, "right now I'm dating a guy and I couldn't be happier. It makes me feel safe and just really does feel right." But apparently some people are not happy for the diver.

As the Huffington Post points out, a number of Twitter users angrily replied to Daley's tweet, which contained the link to his YouTube video.

But it looks like the hateful and disgusting comments aren't bringing Daley down.
