Madonna is Now a Billionaire

It may not come as a surprise to some, but Madonna is now officially a billionaire.
According to the New York Post, the Material Girl's MDNA Tour brought in an astounding $305,158,363, which made it the highest-grossing tour of 2012. Madonna, 54, also raked in $75 million in merchandise sales and $10 million in TV rights and DVD sales.
Women's Wear Daily says that her net worth was about $700 million for some time but with 2012's massive money boost, the "Girl Gone Wild" singer has finally entered the billion-dollar club. Investments in Vita Coco and her Hard Candy gym chain have helped the Queen of Pop bring in some big bucks as well. She also pulled in $60 million in sales from her new perfume, Truth or Dare, and earned $10 million from a deal with vodka brand Smirnoff.
Retail experts told WWD that Madonna will make an additional $10 million in 2013 from her "Material Girl" clothing line, shoe line and her new Macy's lingerie line.
2012 seemed to be a great year for the musician -- besides her tour, she performed at the Super Bowl in February that year and her latest record "MDNA" debuted on Billboard at number one, though sales did sharply decrease later on.
Earlier this month Madonna made headlines when she honored Anderson Cooper at the GLAAD Awards Gala by giving him the annual Vito Russo Award. The singer caught the media's attention for dressing like a boy scout. The outfit was commenting on the Boy Scouts of America and their refusal to lift their policy that prohibits gays from joining the organization. Before presenting the award to the CNN anchor, she told a cheering audience, "I'm ready to start a revolution. Are you with me?"
