Mark Thompson READ TIME: 2 MIN.
LOS ANGELES, CA - The third annual "Art Project Los Angeles," a world-class, red-carpet art auction and artists' reception, returns to Bonhams & Butterfields in Hollywood.
In previous years, the annual red-carpet auction and VIP reception has featured works by Picasso, Warhol, Haring, Basquiat, and more at auction house Bonhams. The proceeds benefit AIDS Project Los Angeles. This year's event takes place from Friday, June 29 through Sunday, July 1, 2012 at Bonhams at 7601 West Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles, California.
ART PROJECT LOS ANGELES, created by Hamilton-Selway Fine Art Gallery and benefiting AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA), is a premier, red-carpet art auction and artists reception that has featured works by Basquiat, Haring, Hockney, Longo, Picasso, Ruscha, Warhol, along with a range of local artists, sculptors, photographers, home furnishers, and more.
The event will feature a star-studded Entertainment Support Committee in addition to this year's named Committee Co-Chairs Jackie Collins and Barry Krost.
Past Committee members have included Pamela Anderson, Diahann Carroll, Stockard Channing, Joan Collins, Kathy Griffin, Tom Hanks, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Mario Lopez, Shirley MacLaine, Debra Messing, Olivia Newton-John, Pauley Perrette, Allee Willis, Rita Wilson, John Lloyd Young, and others.
The event will be hosted at world-renowned auction house Bonhams on the Sunset Strip. Proceeds benefit programs and services of APLA, which brings HIV/AIDS care, prevention, and advocacy to many thousands in one of the hardest-hit communities in the U.S.
Over 62,000 Angelenos are now living with HIV/AIDS -- more than ever before.
