PROVIDENCE - All eight Chelo's Restaurants, as well as many other restaurants from Woonsocket to Newport, Rhode Island, will be fighting HIV/AIDS by participating in "Dining Out for Life," Thursday, April 28. A portion of their sales that day will be donated to AIDS Project RI, which provides clinical and support services statewide for low-income people with HIV/AIDS.

"We are thankful 40 plus restaurants have stepped forward to help people living with HIV/AIDS," said Thomas Bertrand, MPH, AIDS Project RI's executive director. "We're asking people to support them by dining out at these establishments Thursday, April 28."

The idea is to increase the restaurants' business April 28. "We hope they're extremely busy, not only for us, but to help their businesses overall. We hope they get a lot of new customers who will support them all year long," he said.
