Mauritius, A Dream Destination in the Indian Ocean
Robert Doyle READ TIME: 3 MIN.
ATHENS, GREECE - The country of Mauritius is known as the Republic of Mauritius and is located off the coast of Africa in the Indian Ocean. With an area of of 1865 square km and 330 km of coastline almost entirely surrounded by coral reefs. Of volcanic origin and generally sheltered by barriers of coral reefs forming natural, safe, crystal clear lagoons, Mauritius is considered as a dream destination.
Mauritius has an interesting history of ethnic immigration (the island was originally uninhabited) that offers the traveler a microcosm of world cultures. It's a blend of diverse cultures and religions which the immigrant population brought from their ancestral countries.
The contrast of a multitude of colors and tastes, the island, set in its turquoise sea, is an oasis of peace and tranquility. Mauritius, a melting pot where past and present are smoothly blended together, offers an essential beauty that will compel to return to its shores time and time again. May your stay with us remain engraved in your memory forever.
