Porn stars go up the Alley (with BeBe Sweetbriar)

If it's the last week in July, it is time for the Dore Alley Weekend - the leather and fetish event that's been dubbed the mini-Folsom Street Fair. Events no only take place around the Folsom area (where Dore Street is found), but all over town. (Check out this week's FAME for details.)

Expect to see pornstars from all over the country this weekend, either in booths at the fair, at Dore Alley events around the city or just walking along the streets. Amongst those appearing at club events are some porn superstars: Friday night brings the men of Raging Stallion Studios to GhettoDisco's Full Throttle at the RoundUp. At Club 8 on Saturday night Pornstar brings Raging Stallion's Exclusive Model and Man of the Year 2010 Austin Wilde for an appearance. Then on Sunday Raging Stallion's Michael Brandon gives his Endowment party a new direction by making it a 18+ event. Performing at the event by 2009 Grabby Awards Newcomer of the Year Cameron Marshall. EDGE's BeBe Sweetbriar spoke to Wilde and Cameron (as well as Brandon) about the weekend and their careers.

Something Wilde

Austin Wilde made what he thought would be his only porn film for OnTheHunt.com; but after encouragement from superstar Matthew Rush, he sent pics to Falcon Studios and a porn star was born. In the past two years he's made films for Falcon, Next Door Studios, and Cockyboys.com. Most recently, he became an exclusive with Raging Stallion Studios and was recently named that studio's Man of the Year.

"I've had an absolute blast so far with my career in the industry," Wilde writes on his website. "I love it and I'm good at it, so I figured, why not stick with it!? I hope you enjoy my work... because as long as you enjoy it, I'll be doing it."

This week he shared some thoughts with Bebe:

BB: Over the past year, you have risen to quite the porn star. What do you attribute the success to?

Austin: A lot of it I would say is my agent, Howard. He's booked a lot of appearances for me. Physically getting myself out there and spreading my name has definitely helped the process.

BB: How did a young man from the Midwest get into porn?

Austin: I was on vacation in L.A. for a week. During that week I got accused of being a porn star, asked if I was one and got an offer to do it. A month later I decided to feed that curiosity and took the offer. Two years later, I'm still at it!

BB: Being a Raging Stallion Exclusive, you have been to San Francisco, but this is your first Pornstar party. What are you expecting from the party?

Austin: Well, I heard something about a beach theme. So I'm hoping for lots of naked boys (devious laugh).

BB: What can we expect from your Pornstar performance?

Austin: Anything that won't end me up in jail. You'll have to come and see.

BB: What are some of the fun things you like to do while visiting San Francisco?

Austin: Get laid! No, really. I'm usually shooting while I'm there. Other than that, I'm usually pretty lame and just hit the gym, dinner with friends... and the occasional bar.

On Sunday veteran and legendary porn star Michael Brandon brings is Endowment party to The Mist where 2009 Grabby Awards Newcomer of the Year Cameron Marshall will perform. BeBe spoke with both the porn superstar and the newcomer. Here's her conversation.
BB: Why did you change Endowment to be an 18+ party?

Brandon: Scratching my head I've been asking myself......"Self, how do you make "another" porn party work in San Francisco?" The City has become the powerhouse when it comes to adult entertainment. Throw a stone and you hit a porn star. Newcomers, veterans and "hope to be" the next Michael Brandons flock to our beautiful city. Porn stars are common place in our bars. So I tell myself...."Self, you gotta find your niche market. Finding a niche and run with it before too many people catch on or catch up. Michael Brandon's ENDOWMENT niche? .....18+!

BB: Has gay porn lost its significance with the young gay community?

Brandon: Hell no. I can't tell you how many emales, Facebook, & Tweets I get from gay boys and girls telling me how they have been watching, relieving tensions and learning how to fuck since they were 13 years old. Porn stars can serve as teachers and could/should be role models to the younger crowd. That's why it's so important to portray healthy choices when performing. The young gay boy/girl looks to the Internet or DVD's to do their homo-work. Ha ha, I said HOMO work! If they see their idols practicing/making unsafe choices when it comes to their sexuality, they may get the impression it's okay for them to practice or try it that way. It only takes one time to pass a virus that could alter a youngster for the rest of their lives.

BB: Who do you think are some of the hot young porn stars on the scene right now?

Brandon: There is so much young talent out here today. It's hard for me to keep up with them all. I've worked side by side with these boys and find them quite amazing (like) Drew Cutler, Jayden Grey, Tucker Scott, and my buddy Lance Navarro.

BB: You also have a new location with MIST. How did that become your new venue?

Brandon: I walked in to Mist to do a liquor promo. I fell in love with the lay out. I started talking with Mike (owner/manager) and his assistant. I found out it was available to promoters. I did more chatting with the crew. Found out Mist was licensed for 18+. BeBe, the lights went on in my head so abruptly I thought I had been catapulted to Times Square. I found my niche!!

BB: Your guest entertainer Cameron Marshall won a newcomer Grabby Award last year. Any plans to make Endowment a place to showcase young porn talent?

Brandon: Endowment will feature a little of this, a little of that and some more of that! We've gone for a younger look. The go-go studs, Fellipe, Erick Lopez and Troy Daniels will compliment the young heart-on throb, Cameron Marshall quite well.

Quit while he’s ahead?

Cameron Marshall is definitely nice place to start with the young ones. I had an opportunity to meet the award-winning porn star during his visit to San Francisco last month to perform at Locoya Hill's Haute party. I found the 24 year old to be pretty enlightened.

BB: You are one of the young porn stars on the scene, already winning a Grabby as Best Newcomer last year. Do you think you will still be doing porn 10 years from now?

Cameron: I love doing porn and have had such a great time doing it, but I have been in the industry for about 3 years now. I think that I need to stop pretty soon and quit while I'm ahead!

BB: What was your experience working as an exclusive for Chi Chi LaRue's Channel One?

Cameron: Working for Chi Chi was one of the best experiences for me. They always took care of me and were so good to me.

BB: Do you feel you have any responsiblities as a young role model in porn to the young gay men out there and the sexual behaviour they practice?

Cameron: I'm very glad to have worked for companies that practice safe sex. I do believe that young gay men tend to emulate the guys who they watch in porn and when they see nothing but bareback sex I think they end up only having bareback sex. HIV, HPV and Hep B are all very serious problems and I don't think many young men take them as seriously as they should.

BB: What can we expect from your performance at Endowment this weekend?

Cameron: Debauchery!

BB: Endowment has now gone 18+ beginning this weekend. Do you have a lot of teen fans?

Cameron: I get a lot of messages from young guys on my Facebook so I'm guessing I do.
